Homecoming Program
This was the program for the homecoming weekend...
Welcome to Sperling Homecoming 2005:
The Organizing Committee wishes you an enjoyable weekend, and the Cemetery Board thanks you for your support. We hope you have fun with friends and family, revisit some of Sperling's history, and enjoy the program outlined below:
Friday, July 22:
- 6:00pm to 9:00pm: Registration - Arena
- 6:00pm to midnight: "Visiting Time" - An informal gathering at the arena
- The bar will be open and snacks will be available
Saturday, July 23:
- 9:00am to 6:00pm: Registration - Arena
- 10:00am to 4:00pm: Family baseball tournament – School grounds
- Noon to 3:00pm: Children’s program - Meet at the arena
- 10:00am to 6:00pm: The concession is open for snacks and beverages - Arena
- Noon to 1:00am: The bar is open – Arena
- 1:00pm to 4:00pm: Fabulous Fifties classic car display - Downtown
- All day: "Remember Sperling" - Self-guided interactive walks in the village
- Noon to 5:00pm: Family and community history - Visit the Golden Corner
- 2:00pm: "History Walk" – Led by Prairie Pathfinders - Meet at the arena
- 3:00pm: "Cemetery Adventure" – History Play at the Cemetery
- 6:00pm: Happy Hour – Arena
- 7:00pm: Hot dinner (served by Ludwick Catering) - Arena (Wristband required)
- 9:00pm to 1:00am: Dance to the Rock 'n’ Roll band "Black Slacks" – Arena (Wristband required)
Sunday, July 24:
- 9:00am to 11:00am: Continental breakfast (pay by donation) – Arena
- 11:00am to 4:00pm: The concession is open for snacks and beverages
- Noon to 4:00pm: The bar is open – Arena
- All day: "Remember Sperling" - Self-guided interactive walks in the village
- 11:00am to 4:00pm: Family and community history - Visit the Golden Corner
- 12:00pm: "History Walk" – Led by Prairie Pathfinders - Meet at the arena
- 1:00pm: "Cemetery Adventure" – History Play at the Cemetery
- After 4:00pm: Wind down and Clean up
